Carrie Jane Bales, age 88, of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully at the Hospice House in Morristown. She is preceded in death by her husband Howard Bales; parents Wayne and Emma Bivens; brothers Charles, Randall, Verlin, and Ronnie Bivens; sister Gertrude Lebasseur; sons Lance Rutherford and Mike Lauderdale;daughters Evelyn Atchley, Gwenia Williams, and stepdaughter Sue Ayers; and grandsons Josh Lauderdale and Brandon Williams.
Carrie is survived by her sons Joel (Donna) Rutherford and Jess Lauderdale; daughter Kathy Burrows; sisters Sylvia Evans and Revia (Tom) Davis; she also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will meet for a Graveside Service on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Beech Springs Cemetery, at 12pm. Service officiated by Pastor Tony Hayes.
