"Why is everyone crying?"
Lying on his deathbed and very near death, Cary asked, "Why is everyone crying?"
Cary Mitchell Neely was born on June 16, 1959 in the Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee and died at 9:15 am on August 10, 2018 after many years of illnesses, the fatal one only discovered on July 15, 2018.
Cary is survived by his bereaved and loving parents, Joan and Bill Neely, originally from Akron, Ohio and Crossville, Tennessee, respectively; Both are currently living in Knoxville and; One beautiful young daughter, Julia Neely from Knoxville and: One sister, Tara Marie Dyer of Knoxville and one brother, Billy B. Jr. from Ragley, Louisiana and: The love of his life Sharon Garrett and: an ex-wife, Amy Moser and: Uncle, Aaron Bruce Neely and his wife, Marin and: Many relatives from Tennessee, Ohio and Colorado.
He also has an innumerable group of friends and several special friends such as Randy Boyd, Todd Sherrod, Ben Tipton, Dwain Kitchel, Ruth and Woody Gove, Dan Israel and David Dyer.
Cary, by all accounts, was as near a perfect youngster, young man, adult and son, as anyone could ever expect. He was always considerate, thoughtful, hard-working, and loving. He never said a bad word about anyone, even when it was so called for. He would take the blame for anything wherein a partisan conversely might arise.
Cary was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and also Roane State Communnity College.
Cary loved to watch basketball, football games on television, go to movies and play table tennis with his father. He and his father also loved to watch Indy-Car racing together, especially since they knew and loved one of the young, champion drivers, their friend, Joseph Newgarden. Cary was his father's best friend. They, just the two of them, made two wonderful trips to Key West, Florida and were planning a third when tragedy struck. This virtually destroyed his friends and loved ones.
Cary was interested in all of the Important issues of the day. He was especially concerned about environmental issues, such as climate warming, clean air and water, and preventable pollution of the earth.
Another troubling issue of his was in a disdain for any abuse and mistreatment especially of children, and all people seeking asylum while fleeing their lives from any country threatening their lives and that of their children. His position on his every major issue is the correct one when weighed against the fundamental principles upon which our beautiful country was established.
Cary loved everyone.
Cary and Sharon met at a very opportune yet unbelievable sad time for them. Sharon took, figuratively speaking, Cary under her arms, looked after his every need, protecting him by monitoring every drop of medication given him, and for weeks would not leave his side until he finally died in her arms. Cary could have not have survived as long as he did with his angel, Sharon. This, if not so sad, would be a wonderful love story; (it was such a wonderful exhibition of true love anyway, even though it was a terrible true-life tragedy).
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 13, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home with a celebration of Life Service following at 7:00 with Pastor Victor Trobaugh, officiating.
