ALLEMAN, CHARLES LEE – age 88 went to his peaceful rest on November 15, 2011. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 62 years, Reba Alleman, who preceded him in death on Thanksgiving Day in 2008. He was also a kind and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He proudly served his country in the Army during World War II. He spent many years working as a painter for Sears. Charles was a proud member of Middlebrook Pike Baptist Church for sixty-five years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife on mission trips and tending his garden. He perfected the art of growing corn, and according to his family and friends, it was the best corn in town! Charles enjoyed talking to and being around people of all ages. Not a day would go by that he did not have a funny story to share. Charles was a kind and gentle man whose presence will be truly missed. Charles is survived by his daughter, Margaret; son-in-law, Roy; grandchildren, Diana and Benjamin; great grandchildren, Sarah, Maxwell and Josselyn. Family will receive friends Saturday at Weavers from 2-3 pm with funeral service to follow at 3 pm. Eulogies by the Reverends Tony Brewer, George Gilbert and Dr. Don Long. Family and friends will meet Monday, 11:15 am at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery for an 11:30 am interment. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made to the church he loved. As a child I remember many week-end visits to Uncle Charlie and Aunt Reba's home. Always great food and lots of love, and laughs, and fun. My dad, David, always spoke highly about his brothers, Charlie and Willie. Now they are all happily and joyfully together again. With fond memories, and eternal expectations !!!
