OBITUARY

Charles H. Arnold

August 4, 1943November 9, 2020

Charles was a quiet man, always thinking about how something worked or the best way to improve it. He was a fine instructor but did not participate in chitchat conversations. As a younger man, he loved to hunt; but as he grew in experience, he said the deer were more beautiful grazing than on a plaque in someone’s den. He was not content with what he saw as his future so he asked his dad to sign him to enter the army, where he of course excelled in marksmen ship. He was promoted to supply sergeant, at which he excelled. After leaving the army, he rambled around looking for his place and finally found it. He worked at a government armory for several years, during that time he had the opportunity to see and touch great machinery that intrigued him. He understood it and had a knack for it so he started studying; this took him a long way. He started working with bigger and more complicated machines and he loved it all. His job as an engineer was really a passion, not a job. He loved every wire, ribbon, component and circuit board he ever touched. Charles lived his life the best way he knew how, putting his whole self into whatever he was doing. He believed that anything worth doing was worth doing right. Although he had a gruff appearance and did not smile at everyone people were a little hesitant to try to get to know him, but Charles was genuine, and had a good heart. In the years past, he had many trials and tribulations that with the help of God he always overcame. The Doctors gave up on him 3 years ago but God was not ready for him then. Charles fought the good fight all of his life on this earth until our Father called him home. Preceded in death by his father, Homer James Arnold and his mother, Rosa Lee Cook Arnold, preceded Charles in death. He is survived by his wife Benita Arnold of Knoxville, Tn. three sons: Kelly Arnold, Casey Arnold and Timothy Arnold of Shreveport La.; sister, Rosemary, and various other family members. Step daughter Leslie I. Blevins, (Mark); two-step grandchildren, Andrea Blevins and Calen Blevins and one great-grand stepchild, Jaylen, all of Knoxville, Tn. Friends and other family from Mexico to Canada.
