

Branch, Charles L. “Punk”, age 76, of Knoxville passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was a member of Outreach Baptist Church and was retired from Ideal Cement Plant. He was born on September 8, 1934 to James and Iva Branch. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Laverna Mae Farris (married Nov. 28, 1958); son, James Lee “Spanky” Branch; granddaughter, Jamie Kent; brothers, Wesley “Pete” Branch and James Roland Branch; sisters: Roberta “Sis” French, Christina “Dinkie” Branch and Juanita “Nita” Branch.
Survivors include wife, Nellie Branch; children: David (Pat) Branch, Jeff Branch, Cissy Armstrong, Michael West and Darrell West; step-son, Terry Cox; step-daughters: Teresa (Ralph) Coker, Toni (Gary) Perry and Tina Cox; step grandchildren, Terrance Cox and Alexandria Cox of the home; sisters, Naomia (Bob) Davis and Lucy (J.R.) Glenn; sister-in-law, Shirley (Ken) Long; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Saturday, January 29th at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 8pm.
