Charlie was a devoted man of faith whose love for God guided the way he lived each day. At the time of his passing, he attended Graystone Presbyterian Church. For years he attended South Knoxville Church of God, where he married his wife, Annetta.
He had a servant's heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand, especially to those in the community who were less fortunate.
Charlie was known for his kind spirit, strong work ethic, and ability to fix just about anything. A talented handyman, he never hesitated to help family, friends, or neighbors with whatever needed to be done. He was rarely seen without his signature hat, a simple trademark that became part of who he was.
He enjoyed life's simple pleasures, including cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers, watching classic Westerns, and admiring classic cars. Charlie loved his country and treasured the time spent with those he loved most.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Annetta (Carroll) Harris; his parents, Edward and Vesta Harris; and several siblings.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tammy (John) Otter; his granddaughter, Kayla Otter; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and generosity.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920.
