Charles Battles Watson

Watson, Charles Battles (Charlie) – Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on September 23, 2025. Charlie was born on October 19,1943 in Tampa, Florida and made Knoxville his home for over 50 years.

A die-hard University of Tennessee Volunteers fan, Charlie loved life and everyone around him. He was active throughout his life, enjoying scuba diving, tennis, golf, and biking. Most of all, Charlie enjoyed people. He was especially honored to have a hand in raising his nephew, Trey and his great-grandchildren, Dana Sky and LeeLynn.

Charlie’s journey on this earth was marked with love, compassion, and an unwavering faith in God. He believed in people. He never met a stranger and welcomed everyone into his family with open arms. He loved get-togethers with family and friends and always found a reason to celebrate.

A member of Northstar Church, Charlie was strong in his faith and built a network of friends with whom he shared his love of Jesus Christ.

Preceded in death by his parents Walter and Katherine Watson; first wife Martha and their son Damon; grandson Christoper; sister Beatrice; second wife Jo and her children Mark, Ricky and Dana.

Charlie’s memory lives on in his daughter, Natalie Hermosillo, sons Danny Watson (Michelle), and Darren Watson (Natalie), and daughter Carla Perkins Hudson (Craig) all of Knoxville; brothers Walter Watson, Jr., of FL, Robert Watson (Vicky) of White Pine, and Richard Watson (Carolle) of Brooksville, Florida; 25 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a very long list of special friends.

Receiving of friends to be held Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd., Knoxville, TN 37932 from 10am – Noon with a Celebration of Life to follow.
