Sherry was the first friend I made when I moved to Virginia in 1976. My dad had been transferred (Navy) to Washington DC from Ohio. She was fun and funny and giving and always was a true friend. After she, Danny and the kids moved to Tennessee, we lost touch for many years. But the wonder of Facebook (through Danny) put us back in touch. I send my sincere prayers and condolences to Sherry's family. God bless.

I don’t know how I met Sherry, sometime during night school, but we became instant friends. She just had that way about her and so did her family- her mom, and granny were just like family to me too, they were all so welcoming! Sherry called me her best friend and it made me feel like I was the richest person alive ! I feel so sad that with the distance and time I wasn’t able to see her for so many years. I miss seeing her as a mom and being with her kids. I’m sure they are just like their mom, ,so kind and welcoming . I will miss you my friend , I know you are finally with your dear brother and parents now and free of all your pain and suffering. I love you dear friend, God speed.
