Christine Hatcher Dexter of Knoxville, age 76, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 surrounded by her family. She loved the Lord and was a member of First Baptist Church of Knoxville for over 50 years, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved to travel and spend time with family. Her monthly "salad bar" lunches with her closest friends were cherished times.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Hettie Hatcher; and her brother, Joe Hatcher from Seymour. Christine is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ed Dexter; son, Mark (Lisa) Dexter; daughter, Amy (Matthew) Evans; grandchildren, Logan and Allie Dexter and Zeb and Isabel Evans.

The family will have a Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Knoxville, 510 W Main St, Knoxville, TN 37902. The family will receive friends starting at 1:30 pm. A Graveside Service will be held at Berry Highland Memorial on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 9:00 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the ministries of First Baptist Church of Knoxville.

What a wonderful, strong wife and mother Christine was! I will always remember her steady, practical influence on all of us, especially her family. She was always happy to share praise for the recovery of friends and family from illness, encourage others to expand their horizons, and believe in the individual. I will miss her greatly!
