

Patterson, Christine Lawson, age 95, of Knoxville, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on December 14, 2013. She devoted her life to her family, loved the Lord with all her heart, and also cherished her friends. She was the perfect Mother and was loved by all who knew her. She was a member of South Knoxville Church of God and was previously employed by Millers Department Store and the Knox County School System. Christine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Earl Patterson, Sr.; brother, J.W. Lawson; sister, Gwendolyn Lawson; son-in-law, Bill Stringfield; and niece, Dr. Paula Lawson. She is survived by her brother, Robert D. Lawson, Sr. of Chattanooga, Tennessee; son, Earl Patterson, Jr.; daughters Connie Stringfield and Marty Flanders and son-in-law, Don Flanders; grandchildren Angie Kerr (David), Michael Patterson (Bonnie), Ashley Gibson, Brad McCarter (Jenni); great-grandchildren Jason Patterson, Nicholas Kesler, Christina Sharp (Chris), Joshua Kerr (Paula), Amanda Westfall (Andy), William Jacob and Cassidy Gibson, Eli and Emily McCarter and three great-great-grandchildren; niece Kimberly Barksdale; and nephews Michael Lawson (Karen), and Rob, John and Gus Lawson. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Pat Hardin, Terry Jenkins, Pattie Stute and the caring staff of Brakebill Nursing Home. The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home on Chapman Highway, on Tuesday, December 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating Christine’s life will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Branch officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, at Woodlawn Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
