Christy Ann Cheverton

Christy Ann Cheverton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 26, 2026, surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home.

Christy was born on November 19, 1951, in Concord, North Carolina, to Joe and Necie Fisher. She grew up in Kannapolis, NC alongside her dear sisters, Susan Basinger and Jo Carol Fisher. Christy was blessed to have sisters who were not only family, but also her lifelong best friends. After graduating from high school, Christy attended Randolph Community College, where she earned an associate degree in interior design.

After college, Christy moved to Knoxville, Tennessee, where she began her career as an interior designer with the Tennessee Valley Authority. Her greatest calling, however, became her love for the Lord and her family. Christy devoted herself to being a wife and mother, pouring her heart into creating a loving home and raising her children to know and love Jesus.

Christy was married to the love of her life, Rick Cheverton, for 49.5 years. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on their faith in Jesus, their family, and their love for others. They were longtime members of Faith Promise Church, where Christy faithfully attended with her family for 25 years.

Christy had an extraordinary gift of mercy. She loved people deeply and made everyone she met feel seen, heard, welcomed, and loved. Through the Christian Hospitality Network, Christy and Rick opened their hearts and gave their time to missionaries from around the world. Christy would pray over, massage the hands , and bless the missionaries as they prepared to serve others. As a handmaiden, her hands were often an extension of her heart—serving, comforting, praying, and loving others in the name of Jesus.

Her greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother to her three children, Luke, Heath, and Lacey. She treasured every moment with her nine grandchildren and especially loved cheering on her grandboys at their baseball games. She took great joy in the blessings of life: sitting on her front porch with a cup of decaf coffee, having lunch with her many dear friends, working in her garden, helping with the family honeybee business, taking sister trips to the beach, decorating her home, and traveling the world with her husband.

Christy leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, compassion, hospitality, laughter, and prayer. She taught those around her what it means to love Jesus and to love people well. Her life was a beautiful testimony to God’s goodness, and the impact of her love will continue through the generations who were blessed to call her Mom, Nana, wife, sister, and friend.

Christy is survived by her beloved husband, Rick Cheverton; her three children, Luke Cheverton and wife Heather, Heath Cheverton and wife Jessica, and Lacey Siminerio and husband Patrick; and her nine grandchildren, Caden, Jaiden, Easton, Hunter, Ollie, Swayzie, Finn, Victoria, and Angus.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Necie Fisher.

Christy’s family finds comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering but is fully healed and rejoicing in the presence of her Savior.

Receiving of family and friends will be held at Faith Promise Church, 10740 Faith Promise Ln, Knoxville, Tennessee, on October 3, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A funeral service will begin at 1pm. Christy will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Memorial Park, 15501 Bethel Valley Road, following services.
