Cindy Gail (Chancey) Foster, age 68, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on October 10, 2026. She was a graduate of Bearden High School, Class of 1976, and spent many years working at Nabisco and in the Copper Cellar Family Restaurants.
Cindy’s life was filled with the love of family, a spirit of adventure, and a special gift for bringing joy to those around her. She devoted herself to raising her children, enjoyed traveling and experiencing the world, and treasured the time she spent with the people she loved.
Even in the face of Alzheimer’s disease, Cindy continued to demonstrate a remarkable capacity for love. She never allowed her illness to overshadow the kindness and joy that defined her. She laughed, she danced, and she continued to touch the hearts of everyone she encountered. Those who knew her witnessed something truly extraordinary: a woman who met life’s challenges with a gentle spirit and continued to give love freely, even in her final days.
Cindy leaves behind her loving and faithful partner, Dr. Don Keeble; her children, Hayden Foster and Hannah Foster Koontz (Geoffrey); and her beloved grandchildren, Ashton, Madison, and Crosby Koontz. She is also survived by her brothers, Steve Chancey and his wife, Vonda, and Scott Chancey and his wife, Judy, along with extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Lennis Chancey, and her grandparents, Rev. Blaine Burgess, Ethyl Burgess, and Annie Chancey Johnson.
A receiving of friends will be held Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Whispering Waters Pavilion inside Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery, with Pastor Drew Prince officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to West Hills Baptist Church or Alzheimer's Association.
Cindy will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her devotion to family, her infectious joy, and above all, the love she continued to give so freely. Her laughter, her dancing, and the light she brought into the world will not be forgotten.
