I was so sad to hear the news of the passing of cousin Cindy. Our Mom's were first cousins, but more like sisters, and during childhood there were visits back and forth between Southwest Virginia and the McDowell home in Knoxville- more times than I can count! So to siblings Kim and Kay, know that those memories are very precious ones! Love, Marcia (Culbertson) Proctor

Cindy & I had so many good times. We even shared an apartment after graduating while attending UT. She would get her mom's old green station wagon & here we would go to Chapman Hwy Drive-in to see Elvis Presley movies screaming & swooning like 2 silly teenage girls. We were in plays together, chorus together & laughed a lot all the way through school. RIP my dear sweet friend ♥️🙏

Cindy was the most loving person I have ever known. She loved every one she met, and was always there when she was needed. She had a heart of gold and would go out of her way to help anyone who needed her.
She will be greatly missed by her family and all her friends. We never missed calling each other on our birthdays and sing .
She was special person, who will never be forgotten. See you one day my friend!!

My Memories are many of all the wonderful fun times we had through all these years, at school, class outings & class reunions. She was great to be around, & such a great person. My wonderful friend Carol of 32 years, is in Heaven also, & I am sure that they are reminiscing about all of the fun times they had during their time on earth together. I love & miss you both. With Love, Tron.

Cindy, my cousin and special niece of my mom Audrey Carey, will be remembered as an outspoken advocate for animal rights and personal freedom of speech. A friend to many and believer of fairness, she cared deeply for those she loved and showed it in her actions. I believe God needed a caretaker in heaven for abandoned animals more than we needed her with us. We’ll remember the laughter and sarcasm with tears and grins. Her spirit lives on in her family as we will miss her unique artistry and opinions she shared willingly. See you later cousin in peace and love.
