

Darden Pritchard Coker Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great‑grandfather, brother, and faithful servant of God, went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 69 years old.
Born on April 3, 1957, in Dalton, Georgia, Darden lived a life marked by humility, devotion, and steadfast faith. A lifelong member, pastor, and traveling minister of the Church of God of the Union Assembly, he dedicated his life to sharing the Gospel, encouraging believers, and serving his community with compassion. His ministry touched countless lives across many states, and he carried the message of Christ with sincerity, gentleness, and unwavering conviction.
Darden’s faith was the foundation of his life. He cherished scripture—especially 2 Timothy 4:6–8—a passage that reflects a life poured out in service, a race faithfully run, and a crown of righteousness promised by the Lord.
Before entering full‑time ministry, Darden served his country with honor. He spent nine years in the United States Army, completing his service with the rank of Sergeant, a role that shaped his discipline, integrity, and deep respect for duty.
Darden is survived by his devoted wife, Jeanne Coker. He is also survived by his children; Jennifer Madison (Craig) of Arkansas, Jessica Sisk (Marcus) of Tennessee, Sara Owens of Oklahoma, Samantha Medley of Tennessee, and Cameron Coker (Taylur) of Arkansas. He is further survived by his step‑children; Tanya Watts (Adam), Daniel Denney (Shelley), and Tyler Popejoy.
Darden was blessed with many grandchildren; Danielle (Spencer), Lucas, Dylan (Kelsey), Hunter (Abbie), Gracie (Hayden), Alex, Tanner (Emily), Dustin Jr., Logan, Bentley, Jaylyn, Lukas, and Xavier, and he cherished his seventeen great‑grandchildren, each a source of joy and pride.
He is also survived by his sisters; Darlene Moyers (Jack), Barbara Smith, Connie Gardner (Jerry), and Karen Taylor (Todd), as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Foster‑Coker; his mother, Imogene Dukes; father; Darden Coker Sr.; step-mother, Ann Coker; his granddaughter, Linda Madison; and his sister, Donna Jean Coker, whom he now joins in heavenly reunion.
A service celebrating Darden’s life and faith will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the Church of God of the Union Assembly, located at 3428 Keith Ave, Knoxville, TN 37921. Visitation will be from 5:00–7:00 p.m., with the service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Officiating ministers will be Terry Clemons and David Simmons.
A graveside service and burial with military honors will follow on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. in Fort Smith, Arkansas, at Roselawn Cemetery, located at 5403 North O Street, Fort Smith, AR 72904.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Dustin Jr., Logan, Lucas, Dylan, Hunter, Tanner, and Bentley.
Darden’s legacy is one of faith, service, and devotion—a life lived fully in God’s light and a testimony that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
