David R. Carter III, “The Bear” age 64 of Knoxville passed away on April 20, 2018. He was the son of the late David R. Carter II and Wanda Lou Boling. Mr. Carter was a Vietnam Veteran having served his country in the United States Marine Corp and was a self-employed truck driver for many years. He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Gary Carter and his former wife, Connie Cunningham. Survivors include his daughter, Angela Martinez and husband Miguel, grandchildren: Kayli Zapien, Aden Martinez and Kaytlin Hall; great grandson Joshuea Riddley; half-brother, Michael Carter; step-brother, Johnnie Boling; step father, Leon Boling; step-mother, Vena Carter along with other family members and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 6-8 pm in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Funeral Service following at 8 pm. Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 11:30 am in the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Highway, Knoxville.
