He attended Carter Elementary, Carter High School, and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
David was a kind man who loved to farm. He especially liked mowing his fields, tending a kitchen garden, caring for chickens, and adopting the occasional stray cat that needed some help. In addition, he was an avid boater and fisherman who also enjoyed archery, hunting, and black powder rifle shooting.
Predeceased by mother, Elise Greenup Jourdan, Pharm. D., and father, Paul Leon Jourdan, M.D.
He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Jourdan.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 4, 2024, between the hours of 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM in the chapel of McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37924, with a service to follow. Kim DeLozier will officiate. Following the service family and friends will go in procession to Eastview Memorial Gardens,1320 Andrew Johnson Hwy, Strawberry Plains, where David will be entombed next to his parents.
