

David Lynn Noe, age 79 of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on June 16, 2026. David was born in Morristown, Tennessee to the late Katherine Pauline Noe and the late Thurman Wilson Noe. He grew up in Knox County and graduated from Karns High School in 1964 and was a pillar to the Karns community throughout his life.
David entered the workforce as a draftsman at the X-10 plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee; the beginning of an extensive career supporting the Oak Ridge area and the nations top government projects. Over the course of his career, he primarily served as a Project Controls Specialists for Bechtel National Incorporated where his efforts were integral to major projects across the United States. David was instrumental in the cleanup efforts in the wake of the Three-Mile Island nuclear disaster in 1979, often regarded a testament to the illustrious Career that he undertook.
In his spare time, David enjoyed working with his hands. He was an avid woodworker and a lover of motor vehicles. Often you could find him working on home-improvement projects and maintaining the various vehicles that he owned over his lifetime. Perhaps, his liking for motor vehicles was only surpassed by the unwavering love he had for his family, serving as a patriarch to the Noe lineage. David was also a lover of animals, especially the many dogs he parented throughout his lifetime. He was a friend to anyone and everyone, often making a lasting impression on the people he interacted with throughout his daily life.
He leaves behind his son William David Noe, and daughter Tammy Noe Gregg. David also leaves behind his spouse of 61 years, Theresa Oran Noe, whom he married at the age of 18. He leaves behind two grandchildren, Caitlin Gregg Zeringue and Landon Chase Gregg. As well as Son-in-law Christoper Neal Gregg, and grandson-in-law Alex Michael Zeringue. David also leaves behind his one-and-a-half-year-old Great Dane named Rufus.
Services for David will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 20th at 1501 Bethel Valley Rd in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Any flowers can be sent to Weaver Funeral Home at 5815 Western Ave. in Knoxville, Tennessee.
