David Powell Watt

David was born June 13, 1938, and grew up in Farragut, Tennessee. He attended Bethel College in McKenzie, Tennessee. After teaching elementary school in Lenoir City, Tennessee, he worked for McGraw Hill School Book Publishing Co.; retiring after 32 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Berniece (Powell) Watt and his daughter, Kasi Lori Harris Settle.

David is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Jane, his children, Mike Watt, Aaron Watt, his step-children; Tom (Susan) Weaver, Jerry (Margie) Weaver, Tim (Cindy) Weaver, Jeff (Kristi) Weaver, 17 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, with the most recent addition born on his 85th birthday.

The receiving of friends will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 400 Everett Rd, Knoxville, TN, 37934, from 4:30-6:00pm with a memorial service to follow immediately after.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at UT Medical Center for their excellent and loving care.
