Debra Diane Hurst

Debra D. Hurst, age 59 of Knoxville, passed away February 6, 2021 at Parkview Independent Living. She attended UT for nursing and got her degree from Walters State. She was a registered nurse at Ft. Sanders Hospital and later worked for DOE medical center at Y-12 in Oak Ridge, TN. Her favorite pass time was reading books, especially ones by Nicholas Sparks but the time she enjoyed most was spending time with her family. Her favorite movie of all time was Gone with the Wind. Debra believed the key to happiness was to work hard and love everything you do. Preceded in death by parents, Kenneth and Grace Delores Dyer and brother-in-law, Clete Walles. Survived by son, Daniel Hurst; daughter, Carrie LeAnn Hurst; grandson, Landon Hurst; brothers, Robert (Kendra) Dyer and Kenny Dyer; aunts and uncles, Judy (Joe) Fortenberry, Brenda Walles, and Angie (Wayne) Pitard. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 pm Thursday at Weaver Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet following service at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery at 2:45pm for a 3:00 pm graveside service.
