Delores Beets Miles

Delores Beets Miles, age 95, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2026. Affectionately known as “Nana” by many of her family and friends, Delores brought joy to those who knew her and treasured the time she spent with her loved ones.

Delores was a 1948 graduate of Rule High School, where she was a cheerleader. She went on to work for many years as a loan officer at Knoxville TVA Credit Union before retiring. She enjoyed baking, watching Tennessee sports, and playing cards with friends and neighbors. Above all, she loved being with her family.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Christine Beets; her brothers, Bill Beets and Gene “Kikie” Beets; and her son-in-law, Brad Nowell.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Joe Miles, whom she married on January 15, 1966; daughters, Kathy McKelvey and Carol Nowell; son, Mike Miles (January); granddaughters, Lindsey Case (Dylan), Stephanie Burkhammer (Brian), and Marti Nowell; grandson, Michael Miles; great-grandchildren, Camden Case, Peyton Case, Bradley Burkhammer, and Miles Burkhammer; sister-in-law, Charlotte Beets; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919. A private burial

ceremony will be held for the family.
