Delores Jean Spangler

Delores Jean Spangler, age 77, of South Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. She attended South High School, graduating with the Class of 1965. She retired from The University of Tennessee after over 30 years of service. Delores also enjoyed her volunteer work with the Sexual Assault Crisis Center. She was an avid reader, and loved needlework as long as her eyes allowed. Delores was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother who will be greatly missed.

Preceded in death by her mother and father, Russ and Ruby Nelson.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Gary Spangler; daughter, Stacy Spangler; grandsons: Brennan Ellis and Cameron Ellis (Jenna Albers); brother, Russell Lynn Nelson (Donna); nieces: Betsy Kemmerling and Caroline Goldasich; and nephew, Will Nelson.

Family and friends will begin gathering at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, at 10:15 AM for an 11:00 AM graveside service Friday, August 30, 2024.
