

Dixie Welton (Monroe) Hall, age 88, of Lenoir City, Tennessee, passed away on October 5, 2026. A woman whose life was shaped by faith, family, and a love of learning, Dixie leaves behind a cherished family and many loved ones who will remember her with affection.
Dixie was a graduate of Mars Hill University, where she earned a degree in English literature. Her educational journey took her to Washington, D.C., San Diego, California, and Knoxville, Tennessee, reflecting a life enriched by learning and experiences in different places.
Dixie's faith was an important part of her life. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, where she found fellowship and spiritual connection.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Ruby Monroe; her sisters, Katherine and Elizabeth; brother, Wilson; brother-in-law, Tom Lockett; nephew, Jared Monroe; niece, Debra Almquist and her former husband, Arthur Hall.
Dixie is survived by her daughters, Selena Hodge, Sherry Murphy, Tracy Kincaid, and Diana Dale Hall; son-in-law, Robert Rodgers; brothers-in-law, James and Olive Hall; sister-in-law, Kathleen Hall; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren who will carry her memory forward.
Dixie's life was a part of many family stories, shared memories, and lasting relationships. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave and the memories she leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
May she rest in the peace and comfort of God's eternal care.
