Donald Joseph Cipriano Sr.

Donald Joseph Cipriano Sr., age 85, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023. Don was born in Bronx, New York, and was the son of Lorenzo and Jenny Cipriano. He served in the U.S. Navy stationed at the Brooklyn Naval Yard and was awarded Sailor of the Year. He also served in the Mediterranean Fleet. Don was very proud of his military service. He worked for the City of Oak Ridge in various departments before retiring in 2002. Don was preceded in death by Carol Christine Cipriano.

Don is survived by wife, Eleanor Cipriano; son, Donald Cipriano Jr. and wife Kathie; daughter, Catherine Mary Cipriano and granddaughter, Sara Lyons.

Don enjoyed traveling, woodworking, model trains, and restoring antique toys. He also enjoyed celebrating his Italian heritage by cooking delicious Italian food. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge in Oak Ridge and a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers donations should be made to St. Mary's Catholic School in Oak Ridge, TN or to the charity of your choice in Don's memory.

Family will receive friends on Monday, January 1, 2024 at All Saints Catholic Church from 10:00am - 10:30am with a Funeral Mass immediately following. Interment will take place Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 2:00pm at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
