

Mr. Donald Edward Clay, age 78 of Seymour, passed away January 9, 2015. He was born on May 1, 1936 to the late Bill and Ethel Clay in Ranger County, West Virginia. Mr. Clay was retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service. He sang in numerous bluegrass bands, North Country Grass and Pleasant Valley Boys to name a couple, and played on the Grand Ole Opry. He attended Mountain View and Crossroads Church of God. He is survived by: loving wife of 60 years, Thelma Clay; son, Donald (Darlene) Clay, Jr.; daughter, Devana Clay; sisters, Atha Manns and Nettie Shankle; grandchildren, Susan Clay, Adam Brown, Aaron, Sarah, and Joshua Clay; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Parker, Abbygale, Sam, Harper, Jackson, Desir’e, Alay’a, and Aniyah’a. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Dwayne Clay. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 13th at 7p.m. in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 5p.m. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 14th at 1 p.m. in the Berry Highland South Cemetery.
