Knoxville - Donna Jean Lipp Hatmaker, age 86 of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Ben Atchley Tennessee State Veterans’ Home. She was born in Multnomah County, Oregon and was a graduate of Kelso High School in Washington state. She was a charter member of Cumberland Baptist Church and faithfully served for over fifty years in numerous capacities including Church Hostess, Director of Mother’s Day Out, and seamstress for the WMU in their international effort to clothe orphans. Donna loved to travel and visited all fifty states and many foreign countries. She also liked to cook, sew, read, and cross-stitch. Preceded in death by husband of 66 years, Carl Hatmaker; parents, John and Alice Lipp; parents-in-law Ed and Mae Hatmaker; brother-in-law, Bill Wolford; sister-in-law, Carrie Queener; brother-in-law Lowell and wife Lillie Hatmaker; brother-in-law Ed and wife Mary Hatmaker; son-in-law, Charles Castles. Survived by children, Debbie Castles, John and Joan Hatmaker, Betty and Chris Henry, and Linda Hawley; grandchildren, Edward and Lisa Castles, Jennifer and Erech Atchley, Eric Castles, Stephanie and Matt Smith, Annie Hatmaker, Austin and Annie Henry, Major Craig and Stacie Henry, Chris Hawley, Catherine and Kyle Savery; great-grandchildren, Hadley, Delaney, Fletcher, Grant, Jackson, and Anderson Henry, Natalie and Ethan Atchley; sister, Nancy Wolford, brothers-in-law, Bill and Martha Hatmaker, Wayne and Polly Hatmaker, and Jim and Levenda Hatmaker and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Weaver's Chapel on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, from 5:00-7:00 PM with service to follow at 7:00 PM. Rev. Toby Everett officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 PM on Thursday at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway for a 2:00 PM interment.
