Dora L. Brown was born in Wake County, Raleigh, North Carolina, on May 22, 1924. She was the fourth child born to the late Eugene and Effie (Keith) Chavis. Dora departed this life on January 28, 2015 at home. She was a long time faithful member of Goode’s Temple AME Zion Church in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward M. Brown, two brothers Dempsey and Robert Chavis, and one sister Cora (Chavis) Couch. She leaves to cherish her memory: several nieces and nephews, two brothers in-laws and sister in-laws, a devoted nephew (Ronnie Davis) and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3, from 11:00am to 12:00 pm at Berry Funeral Home 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, Tennessee; services will follow with the Reverend James A.
