Dora Elizabeth Caylor

Dora Elizabeth (Wells) Caylor, age 87, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. Dora was born December 26, 1934 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was a member at Fort Hill Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and a church treasurer. Dora worked at Pic N Pay Shoe Store, K-Mart, BiLo, and Food City for 35 years altogether. Dora was a loving wife, mother, and mamaw, who loved to spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Howard Caylor; parents, Bill and Alma Wells; brothers, Paul and Hercules Wells; sisters, Estella Lynch, Mary Thomas, Opal Houser, Agnes Owens, Edith Byrd, Loraine Burnett, son-in-law, Rodney Mills; and granddaughter, Theddie Elmore. She leaves behind her sons, Edward (Vickie) Caylor, Mike (Kathy) Caylor; daughter, Gail Mills; grandchildren: April Buschur (Geoff), Danielle Vance (Jarrett), Morgan Lane (Ryan), Amanda Shockley (Kevin), Brett Merchant, Brittany Stickler (Ashley); great-grandchildren: Noah Woods, Amy Burk; as well as special friends Judy Whitson and Nancy Medford. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM at Woodlawn Cemetery on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 for a 11:00 AM interment.
