Doris Ann Cavender Donathan

Doris A. “Dottie” Donathan, age 73, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 30, 2016. She was an active charter member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church on Blount Avenue for 25 years. Dottie was preceded in death by her father and mother, Howard and Mildred Cavender; brother, Danny Cavender; and sisters, Barbara Jones and JoAnn Lawson. She is survived by her only child, son Rev. Rick Donathan and wife, Robin (who she loved like a daughter); brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Barbara Cavender (who was like her own sister); two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two aunts; one uncle; beloved niece, Bethe Lloyd (Doug) and friend Sherry Wilson who were like her own daughters; many nieces, nephews, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Blessed Hope Baptist Church, 2637 Blount Avenue with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 PM, Rev. Norman Smelcer officiating.
