Doris was born in Bonnie IL, 30 Dec 1933, the third child of Howard and Laura Wilson. At the age of 19 she came to know Jesus as her Savior and she served Him faithfully throughout her life. At her church she met a young missionary, Wilbur (Bill) Rigby. They fell in love and married March 18, 1956. In the next 6 years they added two daughters to their family – Vickie and Tami. Bill and Doris served as home missionaries with the American Sunday School Union (now known as In Faith) in Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee until Bill’s death in 1988. Doris also enjoyed teaching at Tennessee Technology center for many years. Doris was an active member of the church formerly known as Cumberland Baptist. Doris enjoyed working outside in her yard. She played women’s softball until she was in her sixties, usually as shortstop and pitcher. She especially loved playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years Wilbur F. Rigby and, her father, Howard Wilson, Mother, Laura (Neibel) Wilson and dear friend Mildred Clark. She leaves behind: Brother, Eddie Wilson and wife Jane Wilson; Sister, Vivian Lewis and husband Kenny Lewis; Brother, Arthur Wilson and wife Patricia Wilson; Great Aunt Harriet Stutz and dear friend Betty Glover. Daughters: Vickie Kane and husband Michael Kane, Tami Hurst and husband Terry Hurst; Grandchildren: Jason Kane, Adam Kane and wife Amanda Kane, Matthew Kane, Bethany Kane, Amy Hurst, Anna (Kane) Tims and husband Daniel Tims, Arron Hurst, Ean Hurst and wife Hollie Hurst, Nathan Kane, Andrew Kane, Cory Hurst, DeeJay Hurst, and Benjamin Hurst; Great Grandchildren: Aubrey Tims, Sydney Kane, Aniyah Kane, Brennan Kane, Nolan Kane, and Colton Tims; Doris passed from this life 3 Feb 2020. Family and friends will meet Thursday at 12:45 pm at Greenwood Cemetery for a 1:00 pm graveside. She is now rejoicing with her Savior that she loved and served all her life.
