Dorothy Dot Ray Cruze Barnes

Barnes, Dorothy R., age 81, of South Knoxville, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a 1948 graduate of Knoxville High School. Dot retired from Am-South Bank in 1993. She was a member of Meridian Baptist Church for the last 59 years where she enjoyed playing the piano for Adult 4 and serving on the Mission House Committee. In addition to loving her church, she loved working in her flower beds. Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Edith Cruze and her brother, Bill Cruze, Jr. Survivors include husband of 60 years, Franck C. Barnes; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Barbara Barnes; and son, Greg Barnes; and nephew, Terry Cruze. The family would like to say a special thank you to Rev. Dana Fachman and her close friends for their love and support. The family will receive friends 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Meridian Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m., Rev. Dana Fachman officiating. Following the service, family and friends will proceed in procession to Woodlawn Cemetery for Dot’s interment. Pallbearers will be friends from the church.
