Dorothy "Dottie" Effie (Carmichael) Carnes Berrier passed on May 8, 2026, at the age of 98, having been born on May 11, 1927, and residing in Seymour, Tennessee. She was a longtime member of Seymour First Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her father and mother, William Carmichael and Adah Vittetoe Carmichael; husband, Paul Carnes; husband, Jack Berrier; daughters, Pamela Carnes and Patricia Carnes; 3 brothers; and 5 sisters.
She is survived by her nephew, Michael Vandergriff (Glenda); many nieces and nephews; great-nephew, Darrin Vandergriff, who cared for her in recent years; as well as a host of special friends.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Berry Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM for an 11:00 AM interment on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers: Darrin Vandergriff, Doug Parker, Art Shropshire, Roger Vandergriff, Harrison Vandergriff, and Michael Vandergriff.
