

Dorothy Jean Lowe “Dot” Henderlight, who would have been 86 on Monday, July 25, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 23, 2016 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was the daughter of William S. and Lela Lowe and raised in South Knoxville. She was a 1948 graduate of Young High School. Dot retired from Sun Trust Bank as Branch Manager after 25 years of service. She was a long time member of Valley Grove Baptist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher. Prior to Valley Grove, Dot was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist church and Stock Creek Baptist Church. One of her greatest joys in life was her grandchildren. Dot was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Fred E. Henderlight. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Rick Hill, Jr.; grandchildren, Tyler (Alyssa) Hill and Emily (Dustin) Vaughan; great grandchild, Hudson Vaughan; sister, Sandra Harmon; sisters-in-law, Wanda Henderlight and Sue Henderlight and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Margaret Cody for her love and care of Dot as her caretaker. The family will receive friends in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy Tuesday, July 26, from 5 – 7 PM with a celebration of life service to follow at 7 PM. Rev S. Keith Vaughan officiation. Family and friends will meet Wednesday, July 27 at Berry Highland South Cemetery for a 10 AM interment service.
