Douglas Lewis Cox

Pap Pap was Douglas Lewis Cox, born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania on July 28, 1926; he went home to the Lord on July 6, 2018. Big Doug was a scholar athlete and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. Afterwards he was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, married Marie and they had six children. He was preceded to glory by his wife Marie and by his granddaughter Landria. Big Doug is survived by his six children Doug, Dan (Nancy), Don (Nicole), Dennis, Michele (Jorge) Nieri and Maria; grandchildren, Taylor, Mackenzie, Spencer, Madison, Nicholas, Morgan, Rachel, Noah, Melinda, Tiffany, Cameron, Garrett, Chelse, Chase, Chad, Cynthia, Chris, Michael and by numerous great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, July 14, 2018, in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway Knoxville, TN 37920. The family will be available to greet you in the chapel starting at 11 AM. Following the service, there will be an internment service for family members only. Dear loved ones, so sorry for your loss. Doug was a good friend and neighbor. I know you will greatly miss him. May you find comfort in knowing he is in a much better place and happily reunited with your mother. I know you have many happy memories of him as do I. May God give you peace and comfort.
