Douglas Holt

Douglas Holt, age 88, of South Knoxville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 06, 2018. He has resided in Crossville, Tennessee for the last eight years. Doug was a Chief Petty Officer US Navy during World War II, 3rd degree Mason with the South Knoxville Masonic Lodge #769 F&AM and was a deacon and member of the Arrowhead Methodist Church for an extended period of time. He retired from and was a loyal employee at the Knoxville News Sentinel for over 34 years. Doug is survived by his loving wife, of 70 years, Deloris McNabb Holt, age 92; children, Claudia (Bruce) Jones, Cynthia Holt (Robert Scaffe), Carla (John) Bistrick, Douglas (Sheila) Holt; grandchildren, Keiresten (Catilyn) Jonesler, Kevin (Debbie) Jones, Sharah (Eric) Tew, Burt (Lucia) Scaffe, Courtney Holt, Tiffany (Josh) Kittrell and 8 wonderful great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, with a short funeral service to follow at 2:00pm.
