HICKS, EARL C. – age 93 of Knoxville passed away August 30, 2015 at Parkwest Medical Center. He was a loving father and an avid UT football fan. Earl was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII and was involved in the Normandy Beach invasion. Mr. Hicks was proud to service the Knoxville Community as owner of Hicks Appliance Service for over 40 years. Preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ada Hicks; wife, Elizabeth Hicks; brothers, Tommy and Cliff Hicks; sisters, Helen Walden and Mildred Ricker. Survived by his son, Robbie Hicks; special nephew, Pete and wife Jean Walden and several other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Wednesday in Weaver’s chapel with service to follow at 8 pm. Family and friends will meet 1:15 pm Thursday at East Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery on John Sevier Highway for a 1:30 pm interment. Condolences may be made at www.weaverfuneralservices.com.
