Earnie Lee "Owl Head" McGill, a resident of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 74. He was born on August 8, 1951, in Wears Valley, Tennessee. Earnie was known for being hard-working, adventurous, and honest.
He graduated from East High School in East Knoxville and went on to serve in the U.S. Army, where he demonstrated his dedication and commitment. Earnie was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He cherished spending time with his family and was admired for his honesty, loyalty, and faithfulness.
Earnie had a passion for fishing, hiking, hunting, and motorcycles, pursuits that reflected his adventurous spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of integrity and devotion that will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his sons, Jason Lee McGill (Irene McGill) and Jeffrey Cord McGill; his granddaughters, Morgan McGill, Madison McGill, and Jaylon McGill; and his great-grandsons, Carter Martin, Vincent McGill, and Holden Ledbetter. He is also survived by his brother, Eddie McGill (Sherry McGill), and his sister, Linda Fisher. Earnie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geraldine McGill, and his parents, Leroy McGill and Katy McGill.
Visitation will be held on December 8, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm. A graveside service is scheduled for December 9, 2025, at 11:00 am.
