Born in Monroe County, he was the baby and last surviving child of 8. He was a great example of a Christian man who accepted Christ at the age of 9. Ed was a faithful member of Friendly Chapel Baptist Church until his health kept him home.
He worked many tireless years at Pemberton Leasing Company taking care of trailer brakes and tires. Ed loved fishing with family and friends and helping many with home repairs to make life easier for them.
He was preceded in death by son, Edgar Young Jr.; parents, Henry and Mary Elizabeth King Young; brothers: Grant, Olis and Millard; sisters: Julie Thompson, Rhoda Norris, Artie Norris and Sylvia Bowman.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Harlean Dean Young; daughter, Debbie (Steve) Loposser; daughter-in-law, Joann Latham Young; grandchildren: Paige (Steve) Miles, Mary Beth (Travis) Cover, Andrew (Teela) Young, Daniel (Ashley) Young, John (Lorle) Young; great grandchildren: Lorelei and Violet Miles, Guinevere, Merritt, Walker and Maverick Young, Cannon and Cadence Young; countless nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends whom he so dearly loved.
The family would like to thank everyone who took time to call, visit and especially pray for Edgar, Daddy, Papaw, Rooster and Papaw Young.
