He was a graduate of Doyle High School Class of 1978. He retired from Advance Label Works after more than 20 years working as a printing press operator. Ed was a member of Meridian Baptist Church, former member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church and grew up in Friendly Chapel Baptist Church. Known by many for his wonderful singing voice. Ed loved to use his gift of singing to give praise to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Henry and Mary Elizabeth Young, Harley and Ree Dean;
in-laws, Joe and Edna Latham.
Survived by his wife, JoAnn Latham Young; sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew (Teela), Daniel (Ashley), John (Lorle) Young; parents, Edgar Sr. and Harlean Young; grandchildren, Guinevere, Merritt, Walker, Maverick, Cannon, Cadence; sister, Debbie (Steve) Loposser; sister-in-law, Carolyn Sharp; nieces, Paige (Steve), Mary Beth (Travis) and many cousins.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Amedisys Hospice Care, especially, Kristy for her care and dedication.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 27, 2022 between the hours of 5:00pm until 7:00pm in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville with a service to follow officiated by Rev. Dana Fachman and Rev. Jerry Crye. Family and friends will meet Saturday, May 28, 2022, 10:00am at Berry Funeral Home and go in procession to Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike for an 11:00am Interment Service.
