

Edith will be remembered as a giving, charitable, and loving soul, who would do without to help others. She also loved animals, especially cats, and would always find ways to help them when she could. She dutifully raised four children, taught them all about Jesus, and raised them with her loving husband, Mr. Charles Hurst.
She is preceded in death by her father, Harry Inman; mother, Nora Crum Inman; and her sister, Charlotte Inman Duggan.
Edith is survived by her loving husband, Charles Sanford Hurst Sr.; daughters, Sanda Faye (William) Calkins, Teresa Dawn Hurst, and Maria Gypsy Yarber; son, Charles Sanford Hurst Jr.; brothers, Harry Inman and Terry Inman; sisters, Betty Norris and Dorothy Woody; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Bass, Dustin Fox, Stone Fox, Summer Fox, and Dane Hurst Yarber; and her 2 great-grandchildren, Alexander and Elye Fox.
Visitation will be held at Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, TN 37932, on May 9, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location at 2:00 pm. The Committal Service will follow in the cemetery, in the Fountain Garden of Berry Highland West Cemetery.
