Akins, Edna M 90 of Knoxville, TN went to her Heavenly Home Sunday, April 24, 2016. She was of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Homer Akins, Sr.; daughters, Linda Akins, Patsy Akins, Janice Humphrey; grandchildren, Brian Keener, Matthew Humphrey. Edna is survived by sons, Homer Akins Jr. (Janice), Stan Akins (Debbie), Charles Akins (Shari); daughters, Nancy Newman (Leonard), Mary Keener, Barbara Drain (Charles); 10 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; brothers, Frank, Eugene, and Earl Vandergriff; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Tuesday April 26th from 5-7pm at Berry Highland South on Simpson Rd with funeral service directly following at 7pm.
