Edna L. Hood

Edna L. Hood, age 83, of South Knoxville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 17, 2016. She enjoyed hiking, quilting, knitting, and taking care of her family. Edna was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Hood and son, Pat Hood. Edna is survived by her son, Mike and wife, Vicki Hood; Carol Ann and husband, Mark Henderson; grandchildren Jennifer (Andy) Stone; Ashley (Jason) Cummings: Nick (Sarah) Hood; and Ryan Hood; great-grandchildren, Grey Cummings; Georgia Kate Hood; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jo and Pete Zurcher and family; former daughters-in-law, Donna Hood and Esma Jennings; and special family friend, Perry Smith. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Ann Henderlight for her love and care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 1041 N. Central Street, Knoxville, Tennessee 37917. Family will receive friends on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway with a prayer service to follow at 7:30 PM. Family and friends will meet at Holy Ghost Catholic Church at 10:00 AM for the Funeral Mass, Father John Dowling officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
