

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Lane Berry, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on April 27, 1954, in Knoxville, TN, known affectionately by the nickname "Dirt", he embraced life with a passion for living it fast and loud- just as he wanted.
Lane was a proud paratrooper in the 82nd. Airbourne, a service that instilled in him a profound love for his country and his brothers who served alongside him. Following his military service, he dedicated himself to a lifelong career as a heavy equipment operator.
Lane was preceded in death by his father, Ed Berry; brother, Kevin; step-brother, Todd; step-father, Jimmy; grandparents, W.J. and Mary Jane Berry and Basil Ollie Lane; aunt, Edna McCall.
He is survived by his mother, Toni; his daughter, Hollie Berry; grandchildren, Gracie amd Knox; sister, Michelle; brother-in-law, Pat; sister, Cindy, and brother Robin. Lane loved the companionship of his two dogs, Dust and Two, as well as his lifelong best friends, Ricky and Cotton.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Lane at Mt. Olive Cemetery, 2500 Maryville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00am. Online condolences and fond memories may be shared with the Berry family at www.berryfuneralhome.com.
