Elizabeth "Liz" Hankins, age 84 of Knoxville, passed away on February 12, 2026 at Ft. Sander's Hospital. Liz worked at Food City for 54 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Hankins. Survived by her daughters, Debbie Via and Lynne Hankins; grandchildren, Kendal (Andrew) Baumann, Elizabeth (Jeff) Myers and David Cox; great-grandchildren, Scarlet and Macy Lynne Baumann and Parker and Connor Myers; brother, Billy Privett; sisters, Peggy Gage and Linda Stidham; several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the nursing and physician staff at Ft. Sander's Hospital. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Wednesday, Feb. 18th at Weaver Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 am on Thursday, Feb. 26th at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, located at 2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN, 37920, on February 26, 2026, at 10:00 am graveside service.
