Elizabeth Jeanette Reed Vann, age 99, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Jeanette was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on May 21st, 1925, to Dr LI Reed and Jessie Mae Bunch. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Thomas P Vann for over 40 years.
She is survived by her sons: Tommy Reed, Robert L (Bobby); Grandson Thomas Mathew; Grand daughter in law; Griffin; great grandsons: Audie Patrick; Orrin Reed.
Jeanette's rich life was shaped by her early days on the farm, where she developed a deep love for animals that stayed with her throughout her years. A woman of diverse talents and interests, she graced the runway as a model, found joy on the golf course, and lit up dance floors with her graceful movements. Her mother Jessie passed down the art of Southern cooking, a tradition she cherished and shared with others. Faith played a central role in her life through her dedicated membership at Alice Bell Baptist Church and later First Baptist Church uptown. Her commitment to service shone through her involvement with the Eastern Star and as a charter member of the Daughters of the Nile. The Shrine held a special place in her heart, as she supported multiple generations of her family - her father, uncle, husband, and son - in their Kerbela Shrine activities, with Doc and Bobby serving as past potentates. The family will have a private graveside service at a later date.
