Empey, Elna Leone, age 99, born on November 8, 1915, passed away on Saturday October 17, 2015 at NHC Fort Sanders. She was preceded in death by her parents Jon and Anna Lantz, several brothers and sisters as well as her granddaughter Lorraine Virginia Empey. She also joins her two sons, Ronald Dean and William Mark Empey and her devoted husband Richard W. Empey, who was a well-known Knoxville entrepreneur. She is survived by her sisters Ruth Benson of Chicago, Vera Stewart of Walker, Minnesota, son Steven R. and wife Sharon Empey, grandson Mark and wife Jill Empey, great-grandson Zander Empey and great-granddaughter Avery Meyer. The family will receive friends on Wednesday October 21 from 5-7 PM at Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home. The graveside service will be on Thursday at 11:00am at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery.
