
Mrs. Emma Jane Tuttle, 86, was born on May 17, 1932 and passed into the arms of her Lord on December 29, 2018, in Knoxville, Tennessee, where she lived with her daughter and family. She was born in Stokes County to Richard C. and Geneva S. Newsome.
Mrs.. Tuttle worked for a brief period at Hanes Hosiery Mill, but spent the remainder of her years as a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband Elton Wayne Tuttle; brothers Randall Newsome, Dick Newsome and Bob Newsome; sisters Dot Newsome Dvoracek and Patsy Newsome Kapp. She is survived by her children, Brad (Cindy) Tuttle, Mark (Lauren) Tuttle and Amy (Michael) Bliss; grandchildren Jeremy Tuttle, Benjamin Tuttle, Savannah Tuttle, Anastasia Tuttle, Emma Kate Tuttle, Emily Bliss, Madison Bliss, Mitchell Bliss, and great grandchildren Sylvie Tuttle and Alex Agelakopoulos, plus several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 2 at First Christian Church, 625 Meadowbrook Drive, King, North Carolina, 27021. Receiving of Friends will take place from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., with service to immediately follow. Burial will follow the service, in the church cemetery. Harold Ray, former minister at the church, and Glenn Van Meter, current minister, will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to First Christian Church, King, North Carolina.
The family greatly appreciates the gentle and loving care their mother received at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
We rejoice in the knowledge she is no longer suffering and is in the presence of her blessed Savior and her loved ones who have gone before.
