

Robertson Jr, Ernest Bryan, age 82, of South Knoxville, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2011 after a lengthy battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was a member of Lake Forest Presbyterian Church. He retired from the University of Tennessee after 39 years, starting as a photographer and later as a News Bureau Editor. He created Photographic Services within the University, serving as department head and lead photographer/cinematographer. He graduated from Wartrace High School in 1946, attended Middle Tennessee State College and graduated from Southwest Photo Arts Institute in Dallas. Mr. Robertson was employed by the Shelbyville Times Gazette in Shelbyville, Tennessee where he spent three and a half years as photographer, reporter, columnist, and ultimately as editor. He served with the US Navy during World War II. Preceded in death by daughter, Shelley Jean Robertson and sister, Mary Ruth Robertson Medley. Survived by wife, Florence Lorine Chapman Robertson. They were married on July 7, 1950 in Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by his son, E. Bryan Robertson III and wife, Tina Louise Koontz; daughter, Gail Robertson and husband, Joe Messer; grandchildren, Savannah Kyl Robertson, E. Bryan Robertson IV, and Reid Taylor Robertson. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 7pm in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Minister Jean Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm prior to the service. Family and friends will meet on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 1:30pm for the interment service at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
