

Erwin W. Morrison (Bill), age 94, died December 13, 2020, as a result of COVID-19. Prior to his death he was a resident of Elmcroft Senior Living of West Knoxville. Bill was born in San Diego, California, and lived during his youth in Springfield, Ohio, and then Miami, Florida. Bill enlisted in the Navy during World War II and served on a Navy supply ship in the Pacific theater. After his discharge from the Navy, Bill attended the University of Miami. In 1950, he married Mary Frances Park (Mimi) of Chattanooga, and the couple lived in Miami before moving to West Knoxville in 1975. Bill’s career over many years was as an engineer with the phone company until his retirement in 1993. Bill was a gifted piano and organ player. He could build virtually anything, including an organ and a prized grandfather’s clock. He & Mimi loved to travel, primarily car trips through the British Isles, car trips out west, and several cruise ship tours. Throughout his life, Bill was very active in his church and is elder emeritus of West Hills Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin Barnes Morrison and Dorothy Virginia Moorman Morrison, by his spouse, Mimi Morrison, and by his brother, Ralph Edward Morrison. He is survived by his sister, Jean Morrison Hotalen and by several nieces and nephews. There will be a Graveside Service on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery at 3:00pm.
