Evelyn Irene Whittington

She was predeceased by her parents, Edgar (Bonnie) Holloway; sister, Dorothy Jean Holloway and her Husband, Charles Whittington.

She is survived by her children; Bonnie Ranieri Of Liverpool, New York, Tom (Martha) Whittington of Norway, Maine and Charles "Matthew" Whittington of Oakland, California. Her Grandchildren; Anthony (Janette) Ranieri, Pamela Ranieri (Kevin Hamilton), and Katherine (Bruce) Van Antwerp, and her Great Grandchildren; Sophie, Meredith, Avery, Holly, Peter, and Alexander.

Irene was passionate about her family's heritage and very patriotic. She was a proud and longtime member of First Families of Tennessee as well as the Fayetteville-Owahgena Chapter and the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. In her 53 years of membership with the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution she served in many leadership positions at National, State and Chapter level.

Her love for people and education lead her to a career as an attendance secretary at Fayetteville - Manlius High School. As the daughter of a long time Knoxville fire Chief we know she would appreciate donations in her name to any local Knoxville Fire Department in lue of flowers.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.
