Florence "Ruth" Hackworth

Ruth was born July 22, 1949 in Knoxville. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Ruth loved to read her Bible and attended Bearden Gospel Baptist Church. She worked for Knox Trim for years and was very involved in caring for her grandson, Matt.

Preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Don Hackworth Sr.; father, Alfred Lowell Thomas Sr. and mother, Carrie Virginia Thomas; brothers, Lowell Thomas Jr., Ronnie Thomas, Jimmy Thomas; and sisters, Sherry Goin and Alfredia Haynes.

Ruth is survived by her son and daughter in law, Don Jr. and Linda Hackworth; grandson, Matt Hackworth; brothers, Johnny Thomas and Danny Thomas; and sister, Terrie Ann Webb.

Memorial donations may be made in Ruth's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, American Cancer Society, or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.
